SORE, one of the categories that CARB regulates, requires new engines to be certified and labeled to meet emission standards and other requirements. As of today, anyone in California currently using pressure washers under 25HP (e.g., power washers, car washes, HVAC services, etc.) made prior to 2024 is not in compliance with the CARB SORE regulations, with some exceptions, such as certain diesel engine pressure washers, being allowed even after 2024.
